M2DII, reprogrammable cities
Red Bull Basement Program
Madrid, Spain
2019
This project is focused on big cities and how the urban nuclei are congested. The culture produced is consumed by the same people who are generating it. This causes events or activities of interest to be always celebrated in the same spaces. To cure these scars that mark the differences in each neighborhood of a city, we developed a phisico-digytal system with a cube shape called M2DII.
It is about a system, located in the urban space, which by means of participatory dynamics of the population generates reprogrammable spaces in empty places. Under this premise, M2DII is responsible for gestate these dynamics through the collection of data that cause an automatic response based on artificial intelligence. One of the proposal outputs is the creation of a “portal” where artists from different districts can express themselves freely.
PHYGICAL SYSTEM
This is a way of bridging neigborhoods by geolocation art and generating interest in people to leave the center taking advantage of the useless and under utilized spaces of the outskits: additionally, it improvises the social cohesion of the cities without the need to make large economic investments in urban reforms or staying in ephemeral installations.
